James Curtis Burris, of Havre de Grace, Md., and Edgartown died Nov. 13.
He summered for many years on Oyster Pond in Edgartown.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret C. Burris, and their children, Elizabeth Harwood and Martha Berry of Chattanooga, Tenn., Cecilia Porter of Atlanta, Ga., and Sarah Stone of Charleston, South Carolina. He is also survived by a brother, Robert, of Denver, Colo., nine grandchildren, sisters in law, a brother in law and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Church on Garrison Forrest Road in Owings Mills, Md. A reception will immediately follow.
A funeral and interment with full military honors will occur on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the Eisenhower Chapel at Arlington National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the West Point Class of 1954 Fund or the Wounded Warrior organizations supporting the families of injured soldiers.
