William Sargent died on Thursday, Oct. 11, of endocarditis, at the Rhode Island Hospital. He leaves his wife Megan Ottens-Sargent and daughter Anastasia, both of Aquinnah.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 2:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Main street in Vineyard Haven.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Moshup Trail Project, The Vineyard Conservation Society, The Wakeman Center, P. O. Box 2189, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568.
