Frank J. Williams, 49, Was Firefighter, Police Officer
Frank J. Williams of Edgartown died unexpectedly March 28. He was 49.
A native of the Vineyard, Frank enjoyed karate, fishing, gardening, kayaking, working on his cars, helping people and spending time with his three children, Gina of New Hampshire, Maria of Edgartown and Frankie of Edgartown.
He was an active and well-known member of the community. He was involved in many organizations. Frank spent 28 years as a firefighter and emergency medical technician, and was a dedicated police officer for 25 years. Most importantly he was a wonderful father to three children who meant the world to him. Frank's acts of kindness and dedication to helping people will be what his family and friends remember most about him.
He is survived by his mother, Alice T. Williams of Edgartown, his brother, Woody Williams, and his sister, Kathy Spiro.
He was predeceased by his father Frank H. Williams and brother Richard Williams.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 1, in the Oak Grove Cemetery on Pacific avenue in Oak Bluffs; the Rev. Roger Spinney officiated.
