Christine Cetrone Was Devoted to Faith, Family
Christine M. (Russo) Cetrone, 86, of Weston died Feb. 19 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Daniel F. Cetrone, who died in 1977.
Born in Watertown, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Sabatina (Parrella) Russo, who emigrated in the early 1900s from Naples, Italy to the United States. She was a graduate of Watertown High School, class of 1935, and a member of the girls' basketball team.
She had lived in Weston for the past 52 years in the house her husband had built. She retired in 1993 after more than 30 years of dedicated service as a school aide with the Weston public schools.
She was active with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts programs in Weston, in the Weston Council on Aging and was a longtime communicant of St. Julia's Church and the St. Julia's Ladies Sodality.
She loved to travel, was an avid reader and enjoyed theatre, art and music. She also loved cats and passed that affection on to her children. She was a popular member of the community and all who knew her will miss her. She was committed to her faith and was loving and devoted to her family.
She leaves her children, Janice Belisle and her husband, Edward, of Edgartown, Christine Trubiano and her husband, Reno, of Framingham, Anita Hagspiel and her husband, Thomas, of Northborough, and Daniel F. Cetrone Jr. and his fiancée, Wanda Nugent, of Carlisle; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Rogers of Brockton, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family gathered at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home in Wayland on Monday, Feb. 23, at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Julia's Church. Interment followed in the Cetrone family lot at Linwood Cemetery in Weston.
