Beverly Cutler, 86, Was Island Summer Resident
Beverly Waring Cutler of Bryn Mawr, Pa., and Edgartown died on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at the age of 86. Born on Feb. 6, 1917 and raised in Plainfield, N.J., she was graduated from Miss Porter's School in Farmington, Conn., in 1935. She was married to E. Newton Cutler Jr. in 1938, and together they lived in New Vernon, N.J., until moving to Bryn Mawr in 1999. He died in March 2002.
With her three sisters and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Waring, Beverly was a lifelong summer resident of Edgartown, for many of the later years in the house they built in the mid-1970s on Chappaquiddick. She and her husband adored their time there and she spent countless hours maintaining her gardens and tending to the desires of her beloved dogs. She was a former member of the Chappaquiddick Island Association and a member of the Edgartown Yacht Club for more than 60 years.
She is survived by her two sons, Earle N. Cutler 3rd of Vero Beach, Fla., and Michael W. Cutler of West Tisbury; her two daughters, Carolyn C. Goodman of Villanova, Pa., and Allison C. Fox of Devon, Pa., 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and by her sister, Carolyn W. Verbeck of Vineyard Haven.
