Irene Lee Brennan Was Devoted Wife, Mother

Irene Lee (Jardin) Brennan died peacefully at home in Pasadena, Md., on Friday, Feb. 7. She was the wife of Richard Brennan, chief warrant officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, married on Feb. 7, 1981, and the mother of three children, Richie, Stephanie and Danny.

Irene was born on August 16, 1958. She attended schools on Martha's Vineyard, and soon after met her husband to be in 1975 while he was stationed on with the Coast Guard. Irene always was a devoted wife and mother, guiding the family through many different areas of the country throughout her husband's career. Along the way she met many lifelong friends spanning from Puerto Rico to Lockport, N.Y. Irene was a certified nurse's aide from 1980 until 1997. Her devotion to her husband, children, family and animals was unconditional.

In addition to her husband and three children, she is survived by her mother and father, Phyllis (Dube) and Frank Jardin; her sisters, Karen, Lynn, Diana, Debbie and Sian, and brothers, Gary and Wayne.

Visiting hours in the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home in Oak Bluffs were held Wednesday evening with a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Interment will be in the New Westside Cemetery in Edgartown at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14.
