Thank you to Dr. Pieter Pil for his medical care over the past week. I will get the results on my visit next week but the preliminaries sound great and I am confident the end results will be the same. And thank you to nurses Mary Ellen Smith and Donna Beckman who were by my side. It was ever so comforting to know they were there. Also, thank you to the OR staff who shared in my care.

This week it was off to see Dr. Daniel Pesch and Dr. Willie Cater for age-related illnesses that will be monitored and resolved soon.

Thanksgiving is a time of giving thanks for all you have and not thinking about what you may need. Perhaps good health is at the top of daily thanks, along with family and friends.

Deer season is upon us; please be sure to dress in bright orange on your daily walks. If you are hunting in Aquinnah and would like to donate your deer to the tribe, you may do so at weigh-in time.

Condolences to the family and friends of Robert Hughes, who passed away on Nov. 2 at the Brewer House. Bob would always share historical knowledge on my trips to the Oak Bluffs Post Office each day. He would also mail interesting news articles to those who would be interested from his Pinkletink Way address. Many of those articles are still in my possession and I have in turn shared many with others.
