Although the March wind still blows cold, spring is beginning to make itself known on the Island. And for those who want to truly embrace spring, on April 29 the Tisbury Travel Club is heading to the Museum of Fine Art in Boston for their salute to spring, also known as the Art in Bloom show.
The show includes flower arranging demonstrations and work by 20 professional designers who will transform galleries throughout the museum with floral interpretations of works of art. There are also a few special exhibits currently on loan to the MFA including Bruce Davidson’s East 100th St. 1960s Harlem; Lois Mailou Jones, Michelangelo’s Sacred and Profane, plus Cezanne’s and Gaugin.
Anyone who would like to see the show need only contact the travel club by April 1 to reserve a spot. The cost is $48 and includes tickets to the museum and bus fair. Essentially all one needs to do is show up for the ferry and then be whisked away to Boston.
To make a reservation, call 508-696-4205.
