Thomas P. Mosher of Hanson died on the morning of Feb. 20 at his home. He was 81. He was married to his wife, the late Faith S. (Howcroft) Mosher, for 53 years.
Mr. Mosher was born on July 10, 1932 in Oak Bluffs, the son of the late Philip C. and Vivian (Southworth) Mosher. He was a Tisbury High School graduate, class of 1950. Upon graduation, Mr. Mosher earned his associates degree from Mitchell College before honorably serving our country during the Koran conflict as a member of the United States Army. Following the end of the war, Mr. Mosher earned his bachelor’s degree from Boston University. He had a lengthy career working with computers as a data processor in multiple industries. Mr. Mosher was also involved in various roles of town government in Hanson.
He was an avid gardener and enjoyed traveling with his wife Faith in their motor home. Mr. Mosher will be remembered and respected as a gentleman who lived with grace and dignity by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was loving father of Steven T. Mosher and his wife Renee of Decatur, Ala.; Margaret A. McGrath of Whitman; and Jonathan P. Mosher and his wife Sallie of Middleboro. Mr. Mosher was the proud grandfather of Cassandra Mosher, Victoria Mosher, Kathleen McGrath, Gregory McGrath, Melissa Mosher and her fiancé Michael Pinto. He was the brother of Janice Rippcondi of Georgia and the late Gary Mosher of Vineyard Haven. Mr. Mosher was predeceased by his son in law James A. McGrath and his grandson Benjamin T. McGrath.
A funeral service was held at All Saints Episcopal Church in Whitman. Interment with military honors followed in Fern Hill Cemetery in Hanson. Online condolences may be expressed at mackinnonfuneralhomes.com.
