Spring is springing with the dogwoods in bloom, the forsythia with bright yellow blossoms, crab apples are blossoming, daffodils still dazzling, pinkletinks are in loud chorus, robins finding their worms, neighbors opening their summer homes and Forrest Alley definitely has the greenest lawn in Aquinnah, while Angela Waldron already has her Christmas lights lit.

Happy 11th anniversary wishes to Gordon and Dona Perry as they celebrate on May 3.
Happy 42nd anniversary wishes to Michael and Pam Dolby as they celebrate on May 6.
Belated happy birthday wishes to Leonard Green, father of Dr. Thomas Green, who celebrated on April 29. At this time of year, he misses his visits to Aquinnah, and especially the jelly beans.
Belated happy birthday wishes to Tony Lombardi who celebrated on May 1. He is director of Alex’s Place, the teen center at YMCA of Martha’s Vineyard. I have enjoyed lunch time with Tony and Matt Ferro over the past few weeks. We strategize most of the time. Alex’s Place has an online website; check their wish list of affordable necessities if you are so inclined to donate. There will be a special musical program over the summer and funds will be raised to support the program — perhaps a number of local musicians would like to assist in this fundraiser? If so, please speak with Tony.
Happy birthday wishes this week to Jack Runyan on May 3 as he turns three and shares the day with Av Morrow, Betsy Feil Vanlandingham, Amy Vanderhoop and Duncan Caldwell. Jonathan Zack parties on May 4. Karen Duffy will observe a major milestone on May 5 and looks the same as she did as a MVRHS cheerleader in the 1960s. Alexandra Taylor will party on May 6.
