Ruth E. Van Brakle, of Edgartown, died suddenly on Sunday evening, April 5, at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. She was 73.

She was the mother of Renee Metell and Karen Van Brakle. A graveside service for the interment of her cremains will be held on Saturday, May 9, at 10 a.m. in the Oak Grove Cemetery, State Road, Vineyard Haven, officiated by Rev. Roger Spinney.
