On Saturday at 9 a.m. the annual Relay for Life cancer benefit begins at the regional high school track. The event continues all the way through to Sunday morning, with participants continually walking around the track in stages to raise funds and awareness to fight cancer.
Participants form teams, and the entire track area is turned into a full-fledged community with tents and grilling and friends stopping by to lend support.
There will be speeches and moments to remember those who have died, and a survivors lap to cheer on those who continue to fight the disease. For more information, Contact Ashley Wills at ashley.wills@cancer.org or 404-417-8097.
