It is 6:30 a.m. and I am trying to finish this article and I am listening to wind. Last night was thunder, now the sanders are going by. It has rained, it has snowed, now the gale force winds are cancelling boats. Ahhh the sound of winter, it has arrived.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Evelyn Brewer, Jack Laird and Miles Riley, who all celebrated Jan. 9; Emily Anderson and Jonathan Ruzzo, Jan. 11; Joseph Ruzzo, Jan. 12; and to Kyle Rollins who celebrates his day Friday Jan. 15.

My friend Erika and I were coming off the boat on Monday when Erika spotted Jeri Dube’s brother, so we slowed down and asked about her. He said she was doing well and had a lot of tubes taken out and was sitting up and talking. They are still taking time to figure out about skin grafts on her shoulders, back and arm, but all in all she is doing well.

For those of you who don’t recognize the name, Jeri is the lady who was burned in the house fire a few weeks ago. Jeri is a strong woman and I know she will pull through with flying colors, and we wish her a speedy recovery.

The Federated Church has now started their free lasagna lunches, every Sunday through March 20, 12:30 to 2 p.m. All are welcome.

Felix Neck is now accepting applications for summer camp. At Fern and Feather Natural History Day Camp, campers have fun and make friends through hands-on outdoor exploration, noncompetitive games, and creative arts and crafts. But most of all, they enjoy learning from the enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable staff.
