April showers bring May flowers, they say. But all this week's snow and showers have done are flatten our daffodils and tulips. Let's hope our May flowers are getting stronger underground. Aboveground, bullfrogs sound their deep timpani in freshwater ponds, and our seasonal birds are returning to scout out this year's nests.
Wednesday brought a flood of sunshine, and Islanders emerged like bears from hibernation, for walks on the beach, breakfast at Little House and yard work before dusk.
This much is true. It's time to get outside again.
