Norma Jean Wukitsch of Lebanon, N.H., formerly of Chicago, died suddenly on Monday, May 9 in Lebanon.
Born on Nov. 13, 1955 in Chicago, she attended St. Ailbee Catholic School and St. Augustine High School. As an adult, she enjoyed her work as a software instructor and computer troubleshooter, often traveling the country to instruct employees on the newest company software. When the Y2K computer scare loomed, she was one of the people who saw the new millennium in through an office window.
When Norma was recently diagnosed with cancer, she faced her treatments with courage and humor. In fact, most people will remember Norma for her willingness to laugh and make others laugh. She had an almost uncanny affinity with St. Anthony, praying to him whenever she’d lose something. She almost always immediately found it.
Norma was predeceased by her father, Joseph Wukitsch and her brother in law Phil Harder. She is survived by her mother Rita (Wagner) Wukitsch of Plainfield, Ill., her sisters Karen (Lawrence) Rapien of Kentucky, Joyce Wagner of West Tisbury, Donna Griefendorf and her husband Tom of Michigan, and Lisa Wukitsch of Plainfield, Ill., her brother Gary Wukitsch and his wife Kathleen of Peoria, Ill., and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and many longtime friends.
A funeral Mass was held on Monday, May 16, at St. Andrew’s Church in Romeoville, Ill., and she was interred at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. Donations may be made in her name to the National Cancer Society at cancer.org/donate.
