Vineyard documentary filmmakers Len and Georgia Morris of Galen Films participated in the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize Forum held June 6-8 in Minneapolis, Minn. The forum focused on the work of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, who has dedicated his life to ending human slavery and child labor. Kailash has appeared in two of Galen’s documentaries, including Stolen Childhoods, about global child labor. The Same Heart, their newest film about the impacts of poverty on children, is being shown as the closing night film of the event.
The 2016 Peace Forum provides laureates, leaders in government, business, academia and civil society, a highly visible international platform, to think and take action around five key areas: disarmament, poverty reduction and food security, environmental sustainability, human rights and global health systems. In addition to showing The Same Heart, Len was on a panel discussing the implementation of a financial transaction tax to raise revenues to help fund programs to support children and communities at home and around the world.
