The Cape Cod Five Cents Bank Charitable Foundation has awarded a $2,500 grant to the MV Music and Memory Cafe, a free program sponsored by the Martha’s Vineyard Center for Living.
The music cafe is a welcoming weekly gathering for seniors and anyone who struggles with memory issues or has a disability to enjoy presenters, discussion, light refreshments, arts, games, and live music, the weekly focal point.
The memory cafe began in February 2015 with help from founding donor Mary Wagner and has continued to grow and develop a following. In April the program received an expansion grant from the state Department of Developmental Services.
The cafe meets Thursdays at the American Legion Hall Post 257 in Vineyard Haven from 10 a.m. to noon. For more information contact the Martha’s Vineyard Center for Living at 508-939-9440.
