The shelter is happy to report a number of adoptions. Someone found Precious absolutely precious, and now the two are happily cohabitating. Will Feral has gone to his forever home, as has Dulce, and the two feral kittens, Ru and Tinkerbell, were adopted together. Congratulations to everyone!
We have a new approximately year-old orange male cat who was found as a stray on Tilton Farm Road, off Middle Road in Chilmark on August 8. We’ve named him Albert and he is a real love. Please contact the shelter if you think he may be your missing pet.
Still in the cat room waiting for someone to come and fall in love with them are four-year-old buff and white Lefty and three-year-old black and gray tabby Cody. These large boys are as sweet and affectionate as could be. They would be great additions to any home. Sweet, petite year-old calico Colleen, with the beautiful black-lined eyes, is keeping the boys in check while waiting for her forever person to find her.
Our other orange feline resident is another good-sized boy named Chappy. Chappy is taking in the world from the cat condo, and is definitely warming up to people. Come meet him to see if you could be the person to fulfill his life.
Our amazing three-year-old Native American shepherd dog, Kyra, is still waiting for that special person or family to come and find her. Gentle training will need to be continued but she is extremely intelligent and catches on quickly. She is sweet and very beautiful, about 50 to 60 pounds. She needs a gentle, loving home with consistency and would do best with a large fenced yard. If you meet her you will fall in love.
Ru, the six-year-old male foxhound who is good with both children and dogs, is still looking for his new home. He is staying with his family until that can be found. Please contact the shelter if you would like to meet Ru.
