Just in time for the dog days of August, the 2017 Vineyard Seadogs calendar has been unveiled and is now available at Vineyard stores.
This is 10th edition of the calendar, which features puppies on the beach, a terrier jumping off a dock, and Starling, a rescue dog and mascot at Gannon and Benjamin boatyard, swimming in Vineyard Haven harbor. Part of the proceeds go to the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard.
The annual calendar is the brainchild of photographer Lisa Vanderhoop. For this year’s cover photo, she posed three pups, a Bernese mountain dog, an English cream retriever, and a red Labrador, aboard Kurt Peterson’s catboat Tigress, which has an American flag sail.
Ms. Vanderhoop said Mr. Peterson liked the photo shoot so much he might start offering charters with dogs aboard —smaller dogs, though.
The calendar is available at Island stores including Bunch of Grapes, Edgartown Books, Rainy Day, Alley’s, Cronig’s, Menemsha Market, and the Aquinnah Shop. It is also available soon through vineyardseadogs.com, or contact seadogsproductions@hotmail.com.
