There are a lot of smiles this week as the sun is shining and it is warm. I enjoy the cool weather myself and was ready for long sleeves and jeans and I am sure it is still on the way. Until then enjoy.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. When I finally get the list of birthdays from the school there are going to be a lot of balloons flying.

Happy anniversary wishes go to Warren and Debbie Gaines who just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. These days that is a great goal, so here is to many more years together.

Susan Brown reported that Barry Nevin, Linda Smith, Pam O’Neill and Stephanie Harris enjoyed a long walk together followed by lunch at The Newes. “It is great to be with friends” said Barry.

Also under the category of best friends, this past Friday Susan Brown, Martha Joy Wannamaker and Margie Street had lunch at the Anchors. While there they were spotted and visited with Jean Andrews and Pat Tyra and Barry Nevin. Then they visited the Old Sculpin Gallery and then followed it up with some retail therapy.

Mary Gentle has return from a river cruise from Switzerland to Amsterdam with her brother and cousins. They were aboard a small ship that had 110 passengers. As they looked at the list of passengers and where they were from, Mary noticed the name of the small town, Walton, N.Y., that her grandfather, whom she never met, was from. So with some investigating they found the couple and started talking to them, and after asking a few questions, they asked if they recognized their family name only to find out that this couple was related to them. They spent some time together, and thought what a small world to be on a trip in another country and find relatives on a small ship.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
