Calling all entrepreneurs who have an idea for a product, process, or procedure but don’t know how to bring it to market.

A new venture called a pitch contest has been organized that will allow entrepreneurs to present their business ideas and build experience by giving a presentation. They will receive feedback from successful businessmen who will act as mentors. Three budding entrepreneurs will win cash prizes.

The idea grew out of last year’s Blue Economy discussions — how to ensure that our coastal community has a healthy, vibrant economy. The pitch contest aims to promote Island-based ideas to Islanders for development on-Island.

The application deadline is Feb. 8. At the Perfect Pitch MV contest on Feb. 23, a panel of judges from the Island will listen and evaluate the potential of each idea and pick three winners.

Sponsors include the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce, the Martha’s Vineyard Donor’s Collaborative, Edgartown National Bank, the Cape and Islands SCORE and Seidman Investment Portfolios.

For an application and additional information contact Nancy Gardella at the chamber at 508-693-0085 extension 16, or at Nancy@mvy.com.
