Business at Chilmark Chocolates has been brisk — remember Valentines Day is Tuesday.

Marjorie Pierce reports that the Wednesday night community suppers at the church continue to be popular. The food, she says, is mighty tasty. Last week they fed more than 50 people. All are welcome from any Island town.

Spring is getting a bit closer. Susan Block of Music street reports that before the snow last week, snowdrops were about to burst into bloom in a small section of a once thriving garden down at the Frank Adams place.

Jim Powell reports that he has taped an interesting interview with author Susan Branch that will be broadcast on MVTV on Valentine’s Day.

Sig Van Raan and his wife Susan vacationed for a couple of weeks on the island of Nevis, tiny sister island to St. Kitts and birthplace of Alexander Hamilton. They were joined for a week by Toni and Richard Cohen; all participated in the International Women’s March on Nevis — a fitting setting as Hamilton was one of the architects of American democracy. They recently celebrated Susan’s birthday with a festive dinner party in New York with family and friends. The birthday weekend was topped off by the wild and crazy Super Bowl victory by the Patriots.
