Island Grown Initiative (IGI) announces the addition of four new members to its Board of Directors. Bert Fischer, Jessica Roddy, Allen Rugg and Mitzi Pratt were recently elected to serve three-year terms.
Mr. Fischer has had extensive board experience with other Island organizations including the Chilmark Community Center, Chilmark Board of Health, MV Savings Bank, Felix Neck, the MV Commission and the Trustees of Reservations. Mr. Rugg recently retired from a 40-year law career in Washington and Boston, and currently sits on the town finance committee in Aquinnah. Ms. Pratt is a book binder who creates and repairs antique books. She currently sits on Aquinnah’s Housing Committee, Conservation Committee and Community Preservation Committee. Ms. Roddy has been a champion of the food equity movement for many years through her volunteer role with Island Grown Gleaning, work with Meals on Wheels and the Community Groceries Program.
