A memorial service will be held for Virginia (Tilla) Durr on Oct. 28 on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.

Tilla Durr died Dec. 1, 2016, at the age of 77. She had been a longtime civil rights activist, was the sister of Lucy Hackney of Vineyard Haven and had summered on the Vineyard.

The service will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. People attending are asked to RVSP online at rememberingtilla16@gmail.com.
