Catherine Dorman Was Former U.S. Navy Nurse

Catherine Teresa Dorman, 74, of Naples, Fla., died Sunday, Oct. 6, at her home. She was the wife of Dr. Daniel Dorman, who died in 1992.

Mrs. Dorman had lived on Martha's Vineyard and in Barrington, R.I., before moving to Naples 16 years ago. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth Woman's Guild on the Vineyard.

Mrs. Dorman served in the U. S. Navy in the Nurse Corps during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954. She was an amazing woman, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed.

She had seven children: Mark Dorman of Somerset, Karen Dorman of Naples, Fla., Linda Flynn of Attleboro, Kevin Dorman (who died in 1985), Ellen Dorman Eddleman of Naples, Fla., John Dorman of Brookline, N.H., and Mary Panerello of North Scituate, R.I. She had nine grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. She is also survived by Daniel Dorman's sister, Natalie Agostino of Nantucket.

A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Oct. 19 at St. Elizabeth's Church in Edgartown, followed by a graveside service at the New Westside Cemetery with full military honors by the veterans of Martha's Vineyard.

Memorial contributions be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814. Local arrangements are under the care of the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home in Oak Bluffs.
