Portia McKnight

Portia McKnight, a longtime resident of Sarasota, Fla., Martha's Vineyard and the Boston area, died April 28. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her creative talents included painting, gardening and sewing. Her most recent passion has been her beautiful orchid collection.

Portia will be greatly missed by her husband, Bob, of Sarasota and their children, Sandy Sargent of Manchester, N.H., son Bob and his wife, Louise, of San Jose, Calif., daughter Jody Hoffstein and husband Gordon of Southborough, her wonderful grandchildren, Jodi, Bob, Bryce, Jenna, Corey and Kyle, great-grandson Tyler and her sister, Joyce Tate, and husband, Bob, of Sarasota. There will be no services. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
