Stanley James Murray Jr. Was Veteran of Air Force
Stanley James Murray Jr. 52, of Miami, Fla., and formerly of Fairhaven, died at the Aventura Hospital in Aventura, Fla., of natural causes on June 27.
A native of New Bedford and a resident of Miami since 1994, when he moved there from Fairhaven, he was a commercial fisherman and a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam war. He was an Episcopalian, attending The Church of the Good Shepherd in Fairhaven, and a member of the Masonic Lodge DeMolay.
Preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Murray, in 2002, he is survived by his loving family: his mother, Eunice Zelle, and step-father, William Zelle, of Edgartown; his father, Stanley Murray of Florida; two brothers, James Henry Murray of Fairhaven and Michael Dennis Murray of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; two sisters, Patricia Oliver of Fairhaven and Erica Elliott of Melbourne, Fla.; a nephew, Neil Oliver of Fairhaven, and a niece, Melissa Oliver of Hyannis.
Full military honors and interment will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne with the Rev. Robert D. Edmunds officiating.
