Pamela Heylin, 58, Was Director of Senior Center

Pamela A. (Balch) Heylin, 58, of Oak Bluffs, died Thursday, July 8, at the Forestview Nursing Home in Wareham, after a long battle with scleroderma. She was a longtime companion of Henry Rose. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Griswold) Balch Vasalotti.

She was born in Attleboro and lived in Mansfield for many years before moving to Oak Bluffs for many years. She was graduated from Mansfield High School in 1965.

Mrs. Heylin was the executive director of the Oak Bluffs Council on Aging for many years.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 9261 in Oak Bluffs. She enjoyed traveling and was an avid wood carver.

Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Heylin, and a grandson, Thomas Tilton Heylin, both of Oak Bluffs; many sisters, brothers, nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to the New England Chapter of the Scleroderma Foundation, 89 Newbury street, Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements are by the Stott, Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rte.28), Wareham.
