Martha W. Ramsing, 83, Summered in Edgartown
Martha Wrightson Ramsing, 83, of Palm Beach, Fla., Greenwich, Conn., and Edgartown, died of natural causes on Wednesday, July 28, at her Greenwich home. Born Nov. 14, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William G. Wrightson of Orange, N.J. She and her family have owned a home in Edgartown since 1964.
Mrs. Ramsing was a graduate of Miss Beard's School in Orange and Vassar College.
She was an active volunteer in Greenwich, where she at one time served on the boards of the Junior League of Greenwich, the League of Women Voters, the Family Center, Greenwich Academy and Green Fingers Garden Club.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Thor H. Ramsing, and four daughters, Martha R. Zoubek of Greenwich, Cynthia R. McGinnes of Chestertown, Md., Elizabeth R. Palmgren of Free Union, Va., and Karen R. Bixler of Kennett Square, Pa. She was predeceased by sisters Olivia W. Switz of Palm Beach, Minnie W. Besch of Short Hills, N.J., twin sister Cynthia W. Twitchell of Miami Beach, Fla., and a brother, William G. Wrightson Jr., of Rumson, N.J. She has three grandchildren, Rollyn Z. Bornhorst of Marblehead, Christopher C. Zoubek of Pittsboro, N.C., and Krista E. Palmgren of Free Union, and one great-grandchild, Nicholas W. Zoubek of Pittsboro.
