Frederick W. Klein, 49, Was Volunteer Fireman

Frederick W. Klein, 49, died suddenly Saturday Dec. 25 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, N.Y. while visiting family. Fred was the husband of Catherine Leather Klein and father of Heather and Amanda, all of Edgartown, and the son in law of Margaret G. Leather of Glenmont and Robert P. Leather of Chatham, N.Y. He was the son of Howard and Gertrude Klein, both predeceased, of Middletown, N.J.

Fred was born in Red Bank, N.J. on March 4, 1955 and graduated from Middletown High School in 1973. He was an ASE certified automotive mechanic and served for 21 years as a volunteer fireman for the Edgartown Fire Department.

Funeral services were held last Thursday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Oak Bluffs.
