Constantino Silva Had Sly Humor, Love of Family

Constantino (Sonny) Silva of Marion died on Feb. 7 at the home of his daughter in Vineyard Haven. He was the husband of Vernice (McCray) Silva.

Sonny began C. Silva Contracting of Braintree in the early 1970s and then also owned Veta Heating which he ran until his wife's death in 1994.

Born in Providence, R.I., he was the son of Domingo and Mary (Grant) Silva. He leaves one daughter, Tara Lynn Silva and her husband Keven Pigott of Vineyard Haven; a sister, Eugenia (Jennie) Delgado of East Providence, R.I.; a brother, John Silva of Newport, R.I.; and a stepson, Russell Silva of New Bedford. He also leaves his beloved granddaughter, Lily Pigott of Vineyard Haven.

Sonny will always be remembered by all of his new and old friends for his wonderful, often sly sense of humor. He will also be remembered as the best father and mentor, but mostly for being an even better Poppy. He will always be loved.
