Keith C. Kennedy Had Wit and Sharp Intellect
Keith C. Kennedy died suddenly August 10 on the Vineyard, where he lived for the last 25 years.
He was born in Montclair, N.J., on Sept. 11, 1950. He attended Montclair schools, graduating from Montclair High. He was graduated from Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, N.H., where he studied economics.
Keith was widely traveled, but always returned to Martha's Vineyard which he loved. He was an avid reader, and loved photography and painting. His passion was for sharing ideas, and his stunning intellect and knowledge of global history fueled many challenging debates. His charm and engaging wit were gifts he shared with the world.
Keith is survived by his parents, Mabel and Charles Kennedy of New Jersey; his loving sister and brother in law, Joanne Kennedy-Robb and Claude, of New Jersey; his brother, Kevin Kennedy of New Jersey; two nieces, Corey and Janeen Robb-Robinson; his very special significant other, Susan Klein, and a host of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 15, at 10 a.m. in the Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs. Interment followed in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Bluffs.
Memorial donations in his memory may be directed to the Eclectic Madman Collection, c/o Susan Klein, P.O. Box 214, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557. Donations will be used to purchase books on African-American literature, global economics and world history, and will be donated to the Oak Bluffs library.
Arrangements are under the care of Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home on the Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road in Oak Bluffs.
