Robert Wallace Coughlin, 79, Was an Avid Sailor
Robert Wallace Coughlin, of Camden, S.C., died on Monday, August 22. He was 79 years old.
Born in Quincy, he was the son of the late Wallace Eugene and Emily Finnan Coughlin. He had retired as vice president of Pneumatic Scales Corporation in Quincy. He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and was a decorated U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He was also an avid horseback rider and member of the Camden Hunt for many years, member of Springdale Hall Club, and an avid sailor and member of the Edgartown Yacht Club.
He is survived by his daughters, Kathleen Jane Rowan of Vermont, Barbara Coughlin Oppel of Camden, S.C., Jeanne Patricia Coughlin of Camden, S.C.; his sons Robert Wallace Coughlin Jr. of New Jersey, Warren Scott Coughlin of Florida, and Bradley Whitman Coughlin of Kentucky; numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren, and brother George Coughlin of Connecticut.
Memorial services for Mr. Coughlin will be held on Monday, August 29 at 4 p.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. The Rev. Francis Travis will officiate.
