George H. Gould Served During Korean Conflict
George Henry Gould of Falmouth died Tuesday, April 4, in the Harborside Healthcare Nursing Home in Falmouth. He was 85.
George was born in Worcester to the late Amy Neely Gould and Edwin Francis Gould.
His education included the U. S. Army Command and General Staff College, Pennsylvania Military College, Carson Long Institute and Bancroft School
He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1959, attaining the rank of major. He received the bronze star during the Korean Conflict. He was also a World War II veteran.
George worked for Jack Roth Contractors, was office manager for Worcester Junior College, dean of admissions for Pembroke Place Boys School and headmaster at Suncook, N.H.
He was a member of the College Entrance Examination Board, National Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, and the Worcester County Personnel and Guidance Association. He was past president of the Sons of the American Revolution University and a board member of the Club of Worcester.
He was an avid reader, and enjoyed walking, sailing, swimming and tennis.
He is survived by his sister, Lucretria Walsh of Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, in the VA National Cemetery in Bourne.
