Katharine Whitehead, 91, Ran Crocker Guest House

Katharine Randall Whitehead of Worcester, formerly of Vineyard Haven, died June 28. She was 91.

Kay was a bright, energetic, friendly and resilient woman. She was an avid bridge player and taught the game to hundreds of students in the Worcester area for years. In addition, she successfully owned and operated the Crocker Guest House in Vineyard Haven for 16 years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Allan G. Whitehead, and her sister, Virginia D. Randall of Oak Bluffs. She is survived by her children, Shelley Masterson of Harwich, Randall Whitehead of Nashua, N.H., and Wendy Sheehan of Worcester, along with nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will celebrate her life Sunday, July 9, at noon at her annual birthday party at the home of her granddaughter, Tracy Orchard, of Barrington, R.I.
