Robert C. Schnetke, 90, Was Camp Ground Resident

Robert C. Schnetke, a former longtime summer resident of the Camp Ground in Oak Bluffs, died peacefully at the Martha's Vineyard Community Hospital on July 6. He was 90. He was the husband of Margaret Mary Schnetke.

He graduated from the Upper Derby High School in Philadelphia in 1934 where he went onto to graduate from Drexel Institute in 1931. He married Peg in 1940 and they have been together ever since. He was always interested in charity work. He was president of several organizations including the Lion's Club, Toast Masters and the Framingham Chamber of Commerce. He was also the proud co-owner of the Villa Restaurant in Cochituate for 32 years.

Along with his wife of 66 years, he is survived by his two children, Patricia Anne Bracco of Louisville, Ky. and Richard C. Schnetke of Southborough. He also leaves four grandchildren: Jason Bracco of Louisville, Ronald Schnetke and Kyla Cullinan of Southborough and Jennai and Robert Bracco of Louisville. Robert donated his body to Harvard Medical School.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Services will be private and a memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements were handled by the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home in Oak Bluffs.
