George Rutherford, 85, Was Trinity Park Veteran

George E. Rutherford, 85, of East Longmeadow died Dec. 27 in Baystate Medical Center, Springfield.

He was born in Hartford, Conn. and had lived in Longmeadow and East Longmeadow most of his life. He was a World War II Air Force veteran.

Since 1958, he, his wife and family had been summer residents of Trinity Park in Oak Bluffs.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Bowman Rutherford; two sons, Jeffrey of Granby and Douglas of Nantucket; a daughter, Pamela Gallant of East Longmeadow; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Interment was Tuesday in Manchester, Vt.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12 at the First Church of Christ, Longmeadow.

The Dickinson-Streeter Funeral Service of Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
