Sam Milstein of Vineyard Haven, formerly of Edgartown and Chilmark, died Monday night a few days short of his 94th birthday. He was surrounded by his family.

Survivors include his daughters and their husbands, Ann Milstein and Frank Piccione, Emily Milstein and Victor Spelman, and Debby and Will Ware; and his grandchildren Gennaro Piccione, AnnaRosa Piccione and Owen Ware.

He was predeceased by his wife, Charlotte, and his grandson Harry Ware.

Interment at Abel's Hill in Chilmark will be private.
