Tamara (Tami) June Pine-Willett, 46, born Dec. 22, 1960 in Oak Bluffs died at her home in Edgartown on June 8 with her family at her side.

Tami's Island ties went back for generations. Her paternal great-grandfather, Joseph Pine, came from the Azores to the Vineyard in the 1800s on the Bark Morningstar, a whaling ship. Her maternal great-grandfather worked for the state out of Fort Devens as a steamroller operator and paved the first roads on the Vineyard.

Tami was a private person who loved life. She was beautiful inside and out. She asked no more of life than to be loved, to be respected and to be cared for. If you were her friend, it was forever.

She was the sole proprietor of Pine Real Estate, which specialized in summer vacation rentals. She enjoyed her contact with her homeowners and clients, taking pride in representing them to the best of her ability.

As a young girl, Tami excelled in the equestrian field, whether it be jumping, dressage or western competition. She attended two years of high school at Stoneleigh Burnham in Greenfield and was graduated from the Martha's Vineyard Regional High School culinary arts program.

Tami's abilities and interest were wide. She was an entrepreneur and enjoyed the challenge of a new business or profession. After working in the culinary field at Anthony's Restaurant, Homeport and catering, she opened Cafe Tami located at Pine Village Shoppes.

Relocating to Florida, she became an ophthalmologist assistant, first at Venice Eye Institute, then at Jaffe Eye Institute in Del Ray Beach. On returning to the Vineyard, she worked for Dr. Richard McNulty as a dental assistant.

Continuing her interest in learning new professions, she became a real estate agent at Ocean Park Realty. She then branched out on her own, starting Pine Real Estate and obtaining her broker's license.

Tami's days were filled loving and caring for her devoted Chihuahua and special friend, Harley. She loved the time she spent with her two daughters, grandchildren, family and childhood friend Val. She especially enjoyed the time spent with three family generations, playing tennis together.

She was very athletic, enjoying walking, hiking, exercising and roller skating with her husband Greg. Her vegetable and flower gardens were always to be envied.

Survivors include her husband, Gregory Willett of Edgartown; her children, Amanda Rebello and her husband, Keith Fenner of Chilmark and Tiffany Rebello and her friend, Adam Robinson of Vineyard Haven; her grandchildren, Tegan Morrison and Laila Bea Fenner; her parents, Ronald J. and June Pine of Cape Coral, Fla. and Vineyard Haven; her brothers, Ronald E. and his wife, Janet Pine of Vineyard Haven and David and his wife, Terry Pothier of Oak Bluffs; her nieces, Janelle and Jade Pine and Jena Pothier; her nephews, D.J.
