Donald M. Sennott, 81, a lifelong summer resident of Oak Bluffs, died July 18 in Providence, R.I.
Born in Arlington in 1928, he was graduated in 1952 from Brown University, where he still holds the university's all-time scoring record in hockey. He was an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving as a lieutenant in the Korean War. He served as a special projects coordinator for the late Sen. John H. Chafee for 25 years.
In 1956, he married Claire Fredette of Pittsburgh, Pa. They had four children: Siobhan McDonnell of Portsmouth, R.I., Sheila Sennott of Oak Bluffs, Sean Sennott of Providence and Elisa Sennott of Watertown.,
Survivors include his loving grandchildren, Jamison Sennott, Dennis, Lyle, Mary and John Vogle of Oak Bluffs.
A funeral will be held Tuesday, July 24 at 11 a.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Oak Bluffs.
