Elsie May Dail, formerly of Fair Lawn, N.J., Oak Bluffs and lastly Miami, Fla., died peacefully on Oct. 16 in Baptist Hospital of Miami. She was 89 years old.
Elsie was a wonderful mother, homemaker and avid gardener, as well as a devoted employee of the New Jersey Bank in Paterson. After 28 years of service with the bank, Elsie retired to live in her cherished Island home in Oak Bluffs in 1992. She enjoyed many friendships from the Oak Bluffs Senior Center during her attendance there, and the fellowship at Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a longtime volunteer at the Community Solar Greenhouse (COMSOG), and enjoyed walking the many Vineyard beaches.
Elsie was predeceased by her husband, Jasper Carrol Dail, in 1992, and is survived by her sister, Grace Krumwiede of Falls Church, Va.; daughters Jacqueline Campbell of Birdsboro, Pa. and Nancy Streno of Miami; grandchildren Joseph Campbell of Waldwick, N.J., Kerri Hartzell of Birdsboro and Linda Smith-Fernandez of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Michele Smith and Dawn Baker of Miami; and great-grandchildren Alexander Baker of Miami, and Brett James Hartzell of Birdsboro.
A memorial service will be held at the Van Orsdel Funeral Chapel, located at 11220 N. Kendall Drive, Miami on Sunday, Oct. 21 from 3 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Community Solar Greenhouse, PO Box 2048, Oak Bluffs, MA 02557.
