Harold Allyn Searles, former owner of the Raymond Funeral Home in Norwalk, Conn., died on Oct. 20 at the age of 79 after a long illness. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, past president of the Norwalk Rod and Gun Club and a member of the National Rifle Association as well as a member of the Rod and Gun Club and Rotary Club of Martha’s Vineyard. He and his wife maintained a home in Edgartown since the 1980s.

The son of the late Harold A. and Gladys Code Searles, he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eleanor Paul Searles; a son Robert A. Searles and his wife Mary Teufel Searles, all of Norwalk, as well as two daughters, Kathleen Suchy and her husband Peter of Fairfield, Conn., Barbara Searles and her husband Dan Kerns of San Rafael, Ca.; three grandchildren, Patty Suchy of Miami, Fla., Christopher Suchy of Fairfield, Conn., and Ryan Searles of Norwalk, Conn.

A memorial service was held on Oct. 27 at the United Methodist Church of Westport and Weston in Connecticut.
