Mary Margaret McHugh Thibodeau, 80, formerly of Providence, R.I., died March 25 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence, R.I.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Raymond F. and Margaret C. Houston McHugh and the wife of Joseph A. Thibodeau Jr.
Mrs. Thibodeau was a 1948 graduate of the former Pembroke College, now Brown University, and served more than 35 years as a school teacher, holding various positions within the Providence School Department. She was also an active, lifelong parishioner at St. Edward Church in Providence and had volunteered her services for many organizations.
She was the mother of Joseph A. Thibodeau 3rd and his wife Natalie of the Vineyard, Elodie A. Zukauskas of Providence, Margaret M. Smith of Franklin Springs, N.Y. and Susan K. Thibodeau of North Providence, with whom she resided. She was the grandmother of Andrew, Jane, Stephen, Cathleen, Travis, Sarah and Matthew. She was sister of the late Raymond F. and John H. McHugh.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Edward Church, 997 Branch avenue, Providence, followed by interment in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
