Alexa C. (Lexa) Latteo, 19, of Mansfield, formerly of Norton and Quincy, died July 26 in Wrentham as the result of a motor vehicle accident.

Born in Bell County, Tex., on Sept. 17, 1988, she was a daughter of Christine E. (Tina) Latteo Holmes and Peter J. Holmes of Mansfield and the late Patrick J. Duffy.

Alexa spent her childhood living in Quincy and attended the Woodward School from grades six through eight. Her family later moved to Norton, where she was a member of the Norton High School class of 2006.

She was preparing to enter her junior year at Bridgewater State College studying Elementary Education. She loved children and as part of her studies she served as a teacher’s assistant in the Mansfield elementary schools.

Lexa spent this summer on the Vineyard in Edgartown working for the Harbor View Hotel. She enjoyed going to the beach, swimming, biking and making new friends. She had come home to spend time with her friends and family and to help with the arrival of her soon-to-be-born baby sister.

She loved times spent with her family and friends, listening to music, and enjoying shopping trips and fashion. While living in Norton, she had received her confirmation at St. Mary’s Church. She had been a resident of Mansfield for the past three years.

Survivors include her parents; her brothers Brian C. Holmes, Vincent X. (Vinnie) Holmes, Nicholas G. (Nico) Holmes and Zander P. Holmes all of Mansfield. She was the cherished granddaughter of Gail Blaikie of Texas formerly of Weymouth, Nicholas Latteo of Weymouth and Charles and Margaret Duffy of Quincy. She also is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
