Joseph L. Roland Dumais, of Falmouth, died on Monday, May 18, at the Royal Nursing Center in Falmouth. He was the beloved husband to the late Lorraine B. Dumais, with whom he was married for 60 years. He was born in Fall River on Sept. 8, 1917 to the late Louis G. Dumais and Rosa A. Dumais.

Roland, as he was known, worked as a foreman in construction for First National Stores for almost 50 years. He raised his family in Dorchester, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society at St. Matthew’s Church.

He was survived by his sons, Roland G. Dumais of Hyannis and Robert P. Dumais of Oak Bluffs; his grandson Robert Dumais Jr. and his wife Ann; his great-grandchildren, Bobby 3rd, and Amanda of Medfield; grandson Scott T. and his wife Tracey and great-grandchildren Kara and Danny of Norfolk; and a brother Raymond of Bartow, Fla. He is also survived by his daughter in law Theresa of Falmouth. He was predeceased by his daughter Jeanne Dumais, who died at six months; his sisters, Gertrude B. Lussier and Lucienne A. Gagon; and his brother, Alcide L. Dumais.
