George Barnard Baker of Great Falls, Va., beloved husband of 26 years of Susan Thompson Baker and the loving and devoted father of Elizabeth Hartley Baker, died on May 21 at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. He was 59.
He was born on July 27, 1949, in Milwaukee, Wisc., to the late John and Caroline Baker. He was a 1971 graduate of Wesleyan University in Connecticut and received his law degree from Boston University. At the time of his death he was employed by the office of the chief counsel, IRS, where he had worked since 1976.
George was devoted to his family and enjoyed spending time with his extended family on the Vineyard.
In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by a brother, John S. Baker of San Diego, Calif.; by a niece and several nephews; and by several cousins.
Services will be held on Monday, June 8, at 2:30 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 10550 Georgetown Pike, Great Falls, Va. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to 4 Paws, P.O.
