May Monington, 96, formerly of West Tisbury, died on Feb. 23 at her home in Florida in the care of her daughter, Arlene Mills.

While living on the Vineyard, she worked at the Martha’s Vineyard National Bank in Oak Bluffs. She was active in Eastern Star and was a grand representative to Florida. She attended the First Congregational Church in West Tisbury.

In addition to her daughter, she also is survived by her son, Rowan Monington of Higganum, Conn., and his wife Linda and their three children; her grandson Steve Mills and his wife Leigh of Jacksonville, Fla.; granddaughter Sue Mills-Fliss and her husband Jim of Cape Coral, Fla.; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur of Vero Beach, Fla.; her son in law Thomas Mills of Port St Lucie, Fla.; three sisters and four brothers.
