Pauline Seidel Kaltenbacher died in her 95th year, on March 24.

She was the devoted wife of the late Richard S. Kaltenbacher and daughter of the late Bertha Montague Seidel and Joseph Seidel. Polly had an unmatched zest for life and spent her recent years both in Highland Beach, Florida and in West Tisbury.

Polly saw joy and beauty in everything she did and in everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. She loved to garden, fish, play golf with “Boomp.” She was the alumni secretary of her class of 1936 of Wellesley College for many years. Another great interest of Polly’s was Planned Parenthood, where she was president of the Boca chapter.

Tireless and always the perfect hostess, Nana Polly welcomed all into her beautiful homes. Her family and friends will never forget her great charity and loving kindness.

Polly is survived by her children, Nancy and Edward Strauss, Carol and Philip Mehler, and Joe and Gail Kaltenbacher. She was a most loving and generous grandmother to Arthur and Libby Jacobson, Elizabeth and David Kaufman, Tom and Traci Jacobson, Amanda and Mark Tamis, Rick and Melissa Mehler, Jason and Edie Kaltenbacher and Eric Kaltenbacher, as well as treasured great-grandmother of Zoe, Sam, Grace and Rachel Jacobson, Willa and Oliver Kaufman, Chloe Jacobson, Isabella, Harry and Ricky Tamis and Hannah Rose and Samuel Mehler.
