Beatrice E. Welch, 81, of Vineyard Haven died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 24 at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital.

She was the wife of David L. Welch Sr. who predeceased her in March of 2007.

She is survived by her daughters, Beatrice D’Angelo and Diane (Joy) Gibson. She was predeceased by her son David L. Welch Jr. in December of 2004 and daughter Kathleen Welch in April of 2008. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Lisa (Joy) Buckley, Mark Brooke, Benjamin and Christopher Gibson and by seven great-grandchildren, Michael, Kellie (Joy) and Kendra (Joy) Buckley, Anthony, Benjamin and Daniel Gibson, Christopher Burdett, Faith Lynn and Benjamin Gibson. Her brother, Robert Ward of Edgartown also survives her and she was predeceased by her brothers, Ernest and Donald (Snookie) Ward.

A funeral service will be held in the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home in Oak Bluffs on Friday, April 30, at 1 p.m. Visiting hours in the funeral home were held Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.
