Edward Duart, 61, died Sunday, May 16 at home at the age of 61. He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Corcoran) Duart.

Born in Revere, the son of Grace (Ricciardello) Duart of Quincy and the late Herbert Duart, he lived in Quincy for many years before moving to Carver in 1983.

He was an ironworker and a member of Iron Workers Union Local No. 7 in Boston. He retired in 2007. In Carver, Mr. Duart coached youth sports including baseball, boys’ and girls’ basketball and Plymouth youth hockey.

Known to his grandchildren as Papa, Mr. Duart enjoyed spending time with them and being an active part of their lives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother; his son, David E. Duart of Denver, Colo.; three daughters, Stacy Duart of Richmond, Va., Wendy G. Heckert of Boston and Kimberly A. McTernan of Yongsan, South Korea; his sister, Louise Duart of Edgartown; and four grandchildren, Erica Preus, Darren Preus, Thalia Heckert and Edward Heckert.

Services will be private.
